Studies in foreign languages

Studies in foreign languages, especially in English, have become more popular in recent years. They appear more and more often in the offer of both private and public universities. Studies in a language other than Polish are always paid. This rule applies to foreigners and to Polish citizens.

The selection of study programmes provided entirely in English is vast and covers courses in every field. They are dedicated mostly to foreigners, however, Poles who want to get an education in an international language to improve their chances on the job market and broaden their horizons, also undertake such studies.

If someone would like to study in a foreign language other than English it might be a problem. Only three universities (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, University of Szczecin) offer studies in German. At the Pomeranian University in Słupsk there is a possibility to study biology in Russian. The University in Bialystok offers language studies in Russian.

On the website run by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and dedicated to foreigners interested in education in Poland, there is a very practical Studyfinder of English language programmes.
